Employment Opening: Project Geotechnical Engineer or Engineering Geologist
Location: Sacramento, CA (may work out of our Roseville or Elk Grove office)

JOB DESCRIPTION:
Top tier numerous award-winning multidisciplinary engineering and environmental consulting firm has an immediate opening for a full-time Project Geotechnical Engineer or Engineering Geologist within our thriving Sacramento area office.
Our firm provide consulting engineering services in the fields of civil engineering, environmental compliance, geotechnical engineering, and water resources industries. The successful Geotechnical Engineer or Engineering Geologist will have the option to work out of our Elk Grove or Roseville branch office location.
Project Geotechnical Engineer or Engineering Geologist Qualifications include but are not limited to:
- Must be eligible to work in the U.S. with or without employer sponsorship
- Bachelor of Science in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering or Geology with an emphasis in geotechnical engineering
- Ideal candidates will have 5+ years of geotechnical engineering work experience pertaining to field work (soil logging / field mapping), foundation design, settlement analysis, seismic analysis, and report writing
- Must have good verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate technical information to non-technical audiences
- Registered California P.E. or C.E.G. license, or the ability to obtain within 6 months of hire is strongly preferred
- Project Geotechnical Engineer or Engineering Geologist with an M.S. degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering with an emphasis in Geotechnical
Engineering, or Engineering Geology are a plus.
- Project Geotechnical Engineer or Engineering Geologist with past experience pertaining to transportation related projects, especially bridge foundation, retaining
walls, storm damage, and pavement design are a plus.
Overall Geotechnical Engineer or Engineering Geologist job responsibilities are listed below:
- Planning, implementing, and managing geotechnical and geologic engineering projects.
- Coordinating permits, rights of access, and utility locating.
- Logging boring and test trenches.
- Performing field mapping.
- Guiding staff engineers and geologist in performing material characterization, seepage, slope stability, and settlement analyses, foundation and retaining wall design.
- Preparing reports, memos, and specifications.
- Supporting project manager in budget management, client updates, and general project management tasks.
- Possession of an outgoing and positive attitude, and dependable work ethic to meet all assigned project deadlines.
- Display of strong communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced team oriented environment with multiple deadlines. Sense of humor is a plus.
